How 'Cork' is made

Sabrina
M.A. Silva (a cork producer) has an interesting article about how corks are made, from where their cork trees are grown and how the bark is harvested.     http://www.masilva.com/products-natural-corks.html

When many wine producers are now going to the screw tops or using a fully synthetic corks, we use a blended natural and synthetic cork for our wines.  Our corks are TCA taint-free and cost effective and the same corks used by larger wine producers like Kendall Jackson.

Read more about the DIAM corks that we use here.
