2008 Demi-Sweet French Colombard.  $16.99.

Just like its ‘bone-dry’ sister, French Colombard is a grape that has been long neglected in the United States. It is well known in France for another reason in that the French Colombard grape is classically used to make cognac.  If you are a cognac drinker, you will recognize the familiar taste. In addition, French Colombard grapes are the second most produced grape in California behind Chardonnay. French Colombard juice is naturally sweet and is used in sweetening baby food.

The 2008 French Colombard is made in a demi-sweet style with 5% residual sugar. It is medium bodied and balanced in a slightly 'frizzante' style. With flavors and aromas of pineapples, green apples, cling peaches, lemon zest and orange blossoms; i t is our largest and best selling white wine.  We recommend it for a party wine or an anytime wine.  Chill well and serve it in the summer with light fruits, salads, cold soups, or seafood.

White-Black Spanish®. $16.99.

This blush is made from Black Spanish grapes from Texas and French Colombard grapes from California. Deep garnet color with a golden rim, this wine has fresh nutty flavor with spicy and soft lingering finish. With aromas of mulberries, strawberry jam, bing cherries, anise and cinnamon, this is a most unusual blush wine – demi-sweet, fruity, smooth and drinkable any time with anything.

One of our best selling wines for good reason – a terrific ‘Texas Style®’ wine.

Comal Red VIII. $16.99.

This is our proprietary red wine designed by Dry Comal Creek Vineyards as a “signature-type” wine.  It is a copy of a style very well known in Hungary known as “Ausbruch”.  In Hungary, if you order red wine, inevitably it will be sweet because that is their style.  But they can be extremely delicious, very rich and very fulfilling red wines.  This is our attempt to copy the Hungarian “Ausbruch” with a tweak of our Texas Style.  You will find it not too sweet, and has an extremely smooth, rich taste.

It is a wine that goes very well with any kind of hefty foods such as barbeque, Italian food particularly red sauces. We have even used it as a dessert wine at the end of a meal served at room temperature.  It is our best selling red wine.  Nothing else this side of Hungary even comes close.
