Growing Grapes & Making Wine

Winemaking can be a dizzyingly complicated business, with all of the modern science and technology involved, and all of the advanced training now offered, all of the artistic abilities needed to craft just the right wine.

But in the end, the basis of winemaking is simple: Grape juice plus yeast makes wine. That hasn’t changed in thousands of years, even as vineyards have grown to cover more than 20 million acres of the earth’s surface, producing more than 60 million tons of fruit, 80 percent of which is made into wine.

You will learn the ins and outs of growing grapes and then turning them into wine.
